2017

Happy New Year, everyone! 2016 is over (finally) and it's time to think about the year ahead. I don't know what's going to happen, and honestly, I'm kind of nervous. My own future is very uncertain at the moment but recently I've been listening to the Moana soundtrack, and there's something about "How Far I'll Go" that's very motivational.

I do really hope to blog more this year; there'll be a mixture of bookish posts (reviews, memes etc.) as well as more personal posts and some lifestyle/beauty stuff thrown in there, because why not. I also hope to watch more films this year - I still haven't seen Fantastic Beasts, Moana, Dr Strange or Rogue One!

2017 has started off well for me so far; chocolate for breakfast, followed by Firebringer, the new Starkid production (which was really funny) and in less than an hour, the new season of Sherlock. This is of course no indicator of the rest of the year, but when you have no idea what you're doing with your life, you have to celebrate the little things. [EDIT at 22:20 - I have just watched the first episode of season 4 of Sherlock, and it was bloody terrible. Starting the year off majorly disappointed, always a good sign.]

So I'm going to continue listening to Moana (and also the Yuri on Ice opening song, not only because it's motivational, but also because it's just super catchy) while I try to figure out what I'm going to do, since right now it's a vague picture of study more, find a part time job (I make excellent tea, if anyone wants to hire me. And I bake. Just saying) and cross the next bridge when I get to it. Flawless plan, I know.

But for now, I hope everyone is having a great New Year! And let's hope 2017 is a better year than 2016.

  1. Happy New Year! Aw, I'm sorry you didn't like Sherlock last night. I liked it, but I don't think it was the best one. I'm hosting a chat this Friday if you're interested - you can find more details on my twitter - @shootingstarmag

Anywhooo---yay for Starkid. I still haven't seen their newest play. I need to get on that!

  3. Happy New Year Liz! I understand the feeling of being uncertain about the future... I'm in a similar position currently. But yeah, I think the plan to take it one step at a time is all you can do. I still need to watch the new episodes of Sherlock, but damn that is not what I want to hear! Maybe the next two will be better?
